Douglas Costa sent off after spitting in rival's MOUTH to mar Cristiano Ronaldo's first Juventus goals

Cristiano Ronaldo finally broke his Juventus goal drought - but his brace was overshadowed by teammate Douglas Costa's spitting storm.

Winger Costa lost his head with Sassuolo's Federico Di Francesco - as the Serie A minnows bagged a late consolation at Allianz Stadium.
The Brazil international made a rash tackle on Italy Under 21 man Di Francesco before aiming a head butt and the spitting in his rival's MOUTH.
Di Francesco reacted calmly to the disgusting act before the referee showed Costa a red card - after going through VAR.


Costa had come on in the 61st minute for Mario Mandzukic.
Costa is not the first footballer to spit at an opposition player.
Leeds' Samuel Saiz was banned for six matches after gobbing on Newport midfielder Robbie Willmott during season's FA Cup.
