Wimbledon 2017: Johanna Konta fights back to stun Simona Halep and make semi-finals

Johanna Konta fought back from a set down to make the semi-finals of Wimbledon for the first time with a 6(2)-7 7-6(5) 6-4 win over world number two Simona Halep.

The 26-year-old becomes the first British woman to make the semi-final in SW19 since Virginia Wade in 1978.
Konta was broken in the second game of the first set but rallied to force the tie-breaker. However, the Romanian produced some majestic defence to claim the first set.
Konta was in the ascendancy for much of the second set but failed to convert any of the four break opportunities on offer. However, she dug deep to claim the breaker 7-5 to send their match to a decider.
And the British number one secured the decisive break in the fifth game of the third set to secure a semi-final date with Venus Williams, who beat French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko 6-3 7-5 earlier in the day.
