Spanish papers hail Real Madrid… well, most of them

Real Madrid’s 12th European Cup triumph has been greeted with delight by the Madrid-based sporting press.
Marca declares Real ‘Masters of the Universe’ on its front page.
Fellow Madrid paper AS hails ‘La Duodecima’ calling Real’s hunger for trophies insatiable.
Even Barcelona-leaning Mundo Deportivo has the good grace to praise Zinedine Zidane for making Real the first side to retain the European Cup in the Champions League era.
But no such luck across town at Sport. Such is their anti-Madridismo that their headline on Saturday read ‘Forza Juve’.
And in the grand head-in-the-sand tradition their Sunday edition leads on a yonks-old transfer rumour about Hector Bellerin. Incredible.
Italy’s Corriere dello Sport bemoans Juventus’ second-half performance, wailing: “What a collapse.”
Meanwhile over in France, L’Equipe comes up with a typically classy line to greet an historic achievement by ‘Unreal Madrid’.
