London terrorist on bail at time of attack: report Security source says Khuram Butt was well known to police.

Khuram Butt, one of the three terrorists who attacked London Bridge on Saturday, was possibly on police bail at the time of the attack, the Times reports Thursday citing a security source.
Butt had been a key player in terrorist group al-Muhajiroun since at least 2009 and had been mentioned in an FBI report in 2015, the paper reported.
A security source said Butt was well known to Scotland Yard as a “player” in al-Muhajiroun, adding he was the subject of frequent police attention and was “on bail until quite recently, possibly at the time of the attack” for minor offences.
His house had been raided this year by police as part of a disruption tactic used during active counter-terrorism investigations.
POLITICO revealed on Tuesday that Italian authorities had notified British intelligence service MI5 about the terrorist activities in Italy of Youssef Zaghba, a Moroccan-Italian national.

Footage seen by the Times showed the three terrorists, Butt, Rachid Redouane and Zaghba, meeting outside a gym in Barking, East London, days before the attack.
Police arrested three men in London Wednesday night in connection with the attack, bringing the total number of people now in police custody to five.
Eight people were killed and dozens injured when three terrorists drove a van into pedestrians on London Bridge before stabbing people in the area Saturday night.
